What is EPS?

Expanded polystyrene, commonly known as EPS, is produced from expandable polystyrene which, during the production process, expands to several dozen times its original volume, forming beads a few millimetres in diameter. Once moulded, the beads form a cohesive and mechanically strong structure.

EPS owes its excellent thermal insulation properties to the fact that 98% of its volume consists of air trapped within the porous cells of its structure.
